AROUND THE BENS WITH ANDREW BENSLEY
A
$357,000 BIG6 jackpot is the feature of this jackpot weekend, with over $660,000
to be dispensed into the punters' coffers.
The BIG6 pool at Rosehill and Flemington is expected to reach $1 million. Last
week's BIG6 paid a record dividend of $1,370,475.30 (for $1) and one punter,
David from Queanbeyan (pictured above) is now $250,000 richer thanks to a very
lucky mystery 'Fred' bet.
The second leg of the BIG6 tomorrow is the VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final
from Flemington. NSW punters looking for a win at Headquarters might consider
Gold Salute with Damien Oliver on board. According to trainer Mark Riley, the
horse continues to train on extremely well. Davcon is another in terrific form
for trainer Heath Conners.
Punters can have a go at other jackpots, starting on Friday night with $25,000
at Harold Park. On Saturday, there's $187,000 in First 4 jackpots at Rosehill
and for greyhound punters, $47,000 at Wentworth Park. Harness fans can take aim
at a $33,000 Quaddie jackpot at Newcastle and on Sunday, a $10,000 jackpot
starts the BIG6 at Bowraville and Mudgee.
